Fibre Circuit Planned Engineering Works - 26th to 27th May 202129 April 2021We want to inform customers that SSE will carry out Planned Engineering Works that will affect one of our fibre circuits to our Data Centre between 26th May 2021 17:00 and 27th May 2021 08:00 BST. Services will not be affected during this time as all traffic will be automatically routed over alternative fibre circuits. There will be no interruption to services, but there will be reduced resilience during the period. Start of work - At-Risk period: Start Date: 26th May 2021 Start Time: 17:00 BST End of work - At-Risk period: Risk End Date: 27th May 2021 Start Time: 08:00 BST Service Impact: No impact to live services is expected. Services should be considered at risk during the period due to the loss of resilience. Reason: SSE is carrying Planned Engineering Works as the cable needs to be diverted due to a housing development being built. The cable will be cut at the beginning of the outage window and SSE anticipate that the full requested window will be required, this is due to the fibre count of the cable.
This work was previously meant to be completed by SSE on the 13th April 2021 but was not completed due to "unforeseen circumstances". Update 26th May 2021 This work has been rescheduled. Please see below message from SSE; "Please accept our sincere apology for any inconvenience this matter causes, Unfortunately, this change has had to be rescheduled to the 10/06 due to the current site restrictions/civil works taking place, this is unfortunately unforeseen complications which now means this evening work has had to be postponed." |
