Reseller Shared Hosting Price Changes - May 2023

This is a follow-up reminder that Reseller Shared Hosting will ne moving to pay-as-you-use pricing. Those customers affected by this change have already been emailed with details of the changes and their new pricing.

Reason:
We stopped providing reseller shared hosting to new customers four years ago as rising costs made it economically unviable. Since then, expenses have increased substantially, with reseller hosting losses of 24%, and we have been trying to figure out how to solve the issue of making these accounts financially viable.

The simplest solution was to increase the price on all the legacy reseller shared hosting accounts. This would have solved the issue, but it did seem unfair to customers who would be paying a higher price to subsidise a small minority of customers using large amounts of resources.

We eventually came up with a solution that seemed fair for everyone, pay-as-you-go (PAYG) hosting, where you only pay for the resources you use. Under the PAYG pricing, most of our customers would pay the same amount or less. A minority whose resource usage is high will see prices increase.
